NEHA Annual Education Conference
Dr. Melinda Wilkins, MSFS Director and Bonnye Mason-Williams, MSFS Academic Specialist attended the NEHA convention in Grand Rapids, MI in early July.
Along with greeting attendees and visiting with prospective students, Dr. Wilkins was featured on a panel titled, “Graduate Education – What’s In It For Me?”
Dr. Wilkins, as well as three other Michigan State University directors, Dr. Neal Fortin, IFLR and Global Food Law; Dr. Elizabeth Hamilton, Master of Public Health Program and Dr. Jane Maddox, Pharmacology and Toxicology, spoke about the need and benefits of continuing education and the possibilities for obtaining a masters degree with minimal impact on a current job or personal life. Some other incentives to obtaining your masters that they discussed include: ways to keep up with the changing industry, developing your analytic thinking, and excellent opportunities to network with others in your field.
