Frank Yiannas, Vice President of Food Safety & Health at Walmart, receives the Online MS in Food Safety Distinguished Faculty Award for 2017!  Frank has been teaching VM826, Creating a Food Safety Culture, since May of 2014 and was previously a Robert Leader Endowed Lecturer in 2009. 

Frank is a Registered Microbiologist with the American Academy of Microbiology and holds many memberships with several professional associations.  Along with his commitment to educating those at MSU, Frank oversees all food safety as well as other public health functions for the world's largest food retailer, Walmart.  His expansive responsibilities at Walmart include food safety oversight of Walmart stores, Neighborhood Markets and Sam's Club's, training and education of associates, food oversight of thousands of food suppliers, and a number of critical regulatory compliance issues that also come under his supervision.

Frank continues to provide important and useful tools for executives and students at the annual Creating a Food Safety Culture Executive Education session held on the MSU campus.  His expertise in the food safety field is an invaluable tool for executives and students and is not to be missed!
