The MSU Online MS in Food Safety Program is pleased to announce an expansion into continuing education by launching the new Online Continuing Education in Food Safety (OCEFS) program.  OCEFS will provide non-credit professional short courses for anyone interested in learning about a new topic or in need of a refresher.

Our first course is Preventive Controls in Human Foods course which is a self-paced online course that uses the FSPCA standardized curriculum.  This course includes written exercises, an online exam and a live discussion session with the Lead Instructor and Adjunct Professor, Melanie Neumann-Cherney, JD, MS.

This new initiative will provide working professionals with the ability to continue their food safety education online, without having to disrupt their work and personal lives.  There is ZERO requirement to travel for this PCQI certification!

“We are very excited to offer Online Food Safety Continuing Education courses to our alumni and a broad food safety audience,” said program director, Dr. Melinda Wilkins.  “We are hoping to engage professionals in all segments of food industry and regulation by offering a variety of subject matter.”

Additional online, self-paced continuing education courses are set to launch this fall and winter.  Some topics include Food Allergens, Produce Safety, Meat Safety, Dairy Safety, Ingredient Safety, Food Waste Recovery, Foodborne Parasites, Pet Food Safety and more!

No application or prerequisite degree will be required.  These courses are for learners outside of the Online MS in Food Safety Program and these short courses cannot be applied toward the MSFS degree requirements.
