Online Master of Science in Food Safety student Lana Buckles has been awarded the National Capital Area Environmental Health Association (NCAEHA) James M. Wordsworth Scholarship.

“I am very honored to be selected for the NCAEHA scholarship.  I greatly appreciate the opportunities that NCAEHA provides.  The scholarship award will certainly help with the cost of obtaining my Masters in Food Safety from MSU!”

While Lana pursues her Master’s degree in Food Safety from MSU, she also holds a position as a Food Safety Field Supervisor with the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) in Fredericksburg, Virginia.  Before her position in Virginia Lana was the Environmental Health/Food Protection Manager for the La Porte County Health Department in La Porte, IN.

This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to candidates who are seeking higher education in a field related to Environmental Health.  For more information on the NCAEHA James M. Wordsworth Scholarship please visit their website at http://www.ncaeha.com/scholarshipawards.

Congratulations Lana!
