Job Summary

The QA Supervisor is responsible for recruiting, hiring and leading a team of QA Technicians. This position will own the implementation and effectiveness of the Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory Programs for assigned areas of responsibility.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Team Leadership – Recruit, Hire, Coach and Lead QA Tech Team
  • Utilize data to manage the process and drive continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders from operations, maintenance, sanitation and the QA Team to ensure implementation, effectiveness and continuous improvement for the Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory processes and programs
  • Establish and maintain key working relationships with internal partners: Operations, Maintenance, Sanitation, QA Team & USDA
  • Ensure implementation and effectiveness of the Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory Programs & Processes
  • Lead continuous improvement sessions
  • Invests in on-going personal and team development and education

Required Qualifications (Due to the high volume of applicants, only those who meet the minimum qualifications will be selected for interviews):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field and 1-2 years’ Quality Assurance Management experience in the food industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Knowledge of USDA- FSIS, HACCP requirements
  • HACCP Certified preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Read, Write and Speak fluently in English required; Fluent in Spanish preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Food Safety and Regulatory programs relevant to USDA regulated industry
