RESPONSIBILITIES 

Program Administration 

  • Perform HACCP plan revisions (flow diagram, hazard analysis, CCP forms)
  • Perform prerequisite program revisions
  • Develop and administer food safety systems training
  • Review and update other food safety programs as needed
  • Conduct vendor Certificate of Analysis reviews
  • Understand product and process expectations and ensure FSQA programs meet to those expectations
  • Understand and ensure effective execution of new product launches/product changes relating to FSQA Resolution/Regulatory Management
  • Participate and provide support for Audits (Internal, Customer, 3rd party)

Vendor Coordinator

  • Coordinate, review, audit and manage vendor related requirements and documents
  • Establish and maintain communication with vendors on performance, requirements, and plant needs
  • Lead resolution for issues relating to vendors
  • Lead data and performance reviews with vendors
  • Obtain specification details and corrective actions with vendors
  • Verify completion of routine scheduled activities, validations, master sanitation, etc.

Analysis

  • Perform vendor risk analysis
  • Initiate process improvement with vendors
  • Schedule validations and write reports for vendors
  • Perform food safety data trend analysis
  • Proactively seek out process/program improvement
  • Review invoices and budget performance internally with vendors

Management

  • Provide coaching and training for direct reports
  • Lead cross functional teams
  • Train team members on FSQA requirements
  • Hold IPP reviews with direct reports - Identify and remove barriers for team when warranted
  • Manage attendance, scheduling and discipline of direct reports 

Team CFG

  • Attend FSQA meetings
  • Participate in CFG leadership classes
  • Lead weekly sanitation meeting 
  • Participate and present information in USDA and FSQA meetings
  • Participate in operations performance review meetings 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent, preferred in animal science, meat science, biology, or food science
  • Minimum 3 years experience in QA, Food Safety, Regulatory Compliance, Sanitation
  • USDA or FDA experience preferred
  • HACCP certification preferred
  • SQF Experience preferred
  • Minimum 2 years people management experience preferred
  • Flexibility for occasional off-shift meetings
  • Ability and willingness to recognize and respond to new concepts
  • Excellent written/verbal communication/presentation skills
  • Multi-task oriented and a team player
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment where change and growth are part of the culture
  • Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills (proficiency in MS Access a plus)
  • Ability to travel from time to time
  • Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Must possess a Quality Attitude
